AIRoA to Join Toyota Woven City as an Inventor — Beginning Real-World Exploration Toward the Use of AI Robots in Society
2026-04-22
The AI Robot Association (AIRoA) will participate in “Toyota Woven City” (“Woven City”), led by Toyota Motor Corporation and Woven by Toyota, Inc., as an Inventor.
Woven City is a test course for mobility where people, goods, information, and energy are interconnected. It is a place where Inventors and Weavers—residents and visitors—co-create and conduct demonstrations of new products and services.
AIRoA shares this vision. In line with the Association’s objective of revolutionizing the technologies used in robot development by integrating robots and AI, and thereby promoting the use of robots across society, AIRoA will advance initiatives aimed at bringing them into wider use.
To promote the development and social adoption of AI robots, AIRoA’s work spans the full stack: building and maintaining open datasets for foundation models, developing and sharing those models publicly, and running an active developer community.
Through Woven City, AIRoA will ground this work in the real world; identifying where robots fall short in society and sharpening how development responds to that reality.
Guided by Woven City’s “For Others” philosophy and its vision of expanding mobility, AIRoA aims to co-create a future where AI robots are used safely and effectively in society.
