AIRoA was established amid the rapid evolution of AI technology to address the growing need for "robot foundation models." While these models hold immense potential for diverse tasks, the essential datasets and resources remain concentrated within a few dominant corporations. This creates significant barriers to entry for independent researchers and the broader global community.

To dismantle these monopolies, we focus on developing and openly sharing high-quality behavioral datasets, fostering a collaborative "robot data ecosystem." By bridging industry, academia, and government, AIRoA is dedicated to accelerating innovation and implementing general-purpose robots to solve critical societal challenges like labor shortages, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for all.
